As we transition , we may find ourselves lost, ….this is called the Dark night of the soul. Ram Dass will tell you all about it, we are not alone in our mishaps and struggles with spirituality. It is a transformation, a process, a death of who we thought we were, suffering in the wake, and then finally relief. An excerpt from an audio recording of Dass …”Death as a vehicle for awakening “…

SovereignBeing says:

Has anyone had demons attacking them day and night ?
making them ill and depressed suicidal and anxious?
bashed and battered by life constantly.
has anyone had everything in their life go wrong..
cant hold down a job or a relationship or even have pets without them getting sick and dying.
suffering endless conflicts and hardships and their whole family turned against them?
has anyone been plagued with endless infections and nothing and no one can heal them..
has anyone had multiple healers working on them and nothing works..?
has anyone turned to God and his angels and they still refuse to help you ?
this is probably beyond the dark night of the soul..
and its about surrendering all, even your life to nothingness.
i give up.

i am not sure, but i had an experience that broke me down mentally, it opened me to finding buddhism, and i very quickly took to the teachings, and through a 3 month span had such a profound awakening, and came to understand all the mystic teachings and could view anything from an awakened state. very quickly progressed. found myself in the all of the nothingness. this lasted about a month, but then there was an experience of being pulled back. i have read briefly adyashante mention this experience of genuine awakening on all levels and then like a bungy cord stretched too far it will recoil but not back to full lastisty. for me  there is a feeling of being trapped between 2 worlds, or a third world sometimes. i am wondering if this is what the dark night experience is. have others gone through similar events? there is a feeling that everything is a feeling of displeasure on so many factors holy and unholy. almost as if truth is a lie, also the lie is still a lie.

Stephen Austin says:

This is no fun. Self must die for God to fully enter and be .  This is all of what Ram Dass is saying. God was always in charge but the mind thought it self in charge. It/we doesn't want to FULLY surrender , until the pain tempered in the fire is unbearable. Self/mind must agree with letting God . Then it's bliss.
