There is No Death – a poem read by Wayne Dyer on his series Wisdom of the Masters. The poem is author unknown.

Having listened to this after the loss of my own parents I found it to be very comforting. When looking online for this piece to play as a tribute to Dr. Dyer upon his own passing I couldn’t find it.

The beautiful photo was taken by my dear friend Marc Antoine Thevenet.

There is no death!

I am standing upon the sea shore.
A ship at my side spreads her white sails
to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and strength
and I stand and watch her as she hangs like a spec of white cloud
just where the sea and the sky come to mingle with each other.
Then someone at my side says, “There, she’s gone.”
Gone from my sight that is all.
She is just as large in mast and hull and spar
as she was when she left my side.
And she is just as able to bear her load
of living weight to her destined port.
Her diminished size is in me not in her.
And just at the moment when someone at my side says, “There, she is gone.”
There are other eyes watching her coming and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, “There she comes.”

Earlier this year I suffered a brain aneurism at 48 doing a simple daily work-out routine at the gym. There was one point in ICU where I prepared myself for death. From years of listening to Dr. Dyer and Zen philosophies I can tell you that I did not feel any fear at all. I was at ease. I instantly forgot about all I was leaving and felt total peace moving forward to the inevitable. I since completely recovered and have zero fear of death now. It's just the transfer of energy. The body is only the vehicle of this specific short journey, nothing more. RIP Dr. Wayne Dyer.
