Being poor is only great until you need medical care. (As Walker Percy's character in The Second Coming discovered when he went into a cave to test God and got a massive tooth infection, lol!) If your faith is strong enough, whatever you need is provided. Most people just aren't there yet. Let's not excuse leaving people in poverty and without healthcare, for the sake of their spirituality.
And I regarding fear, I actually know a lot of people who would be happy to die, been wanting an exit door that wouldn't hurt others for quite a while. It's just the pain of getting there that's the real fear. I am okay with leaving this body, but protracted severe pain is by far a worse fear, and my friends and family seem to be of the same opinion.
