“IMAGINE” is an immersive project that blends a very unique early 70’s Ram Dass meditation with an audio soundscape created by Boreta (of The Glitch Mob). This video was created to accompany the piece as a visual meditation, to invite you to submerge yourself into the depths of your consciousness, to discover the possibility of truth.
We hope you find expansiveness and joy in this experience, whether you are an experienced meditator or have no experience – there is no right or wrong way to be with what is; it only requires that you surrender into the waves of awareness.
BEHIND THE PROJECT
When I spent time with Ram Dass in Maui recently, he asked me about our music. I said, “We take the love that people give us and send it back out as music. It’s a feedback loop.”
“Ah,” he stopped me, grinning. “That’s your ego talking. You see that? Your ego gives and takes. It manipulates. Your true essence is to simply be the love. There’s nothing to do there.”
It’s a subtle difference but I sit with this every day. He’s not saying that our ego is bad; we need it, too. He’s saying that there’s a seat of consciousness behind the thinking mind that is pure love. Or call it pure awareness, or God. Same thing. When you access that place, you simply just be. There’s nothing to do there, no desire to attempt to change yourself or anyone else. You are perfect just as you are. I’ve felt it and it’s liberating.
I am honored to present this collaboration with Ram Dass. It’s an homage to someone who has pointed me in the right direction. We hope it brings you joy. Set aside 30 mins and dive deep.

Well since I did this early,(like early since I woke up(physically not spiritually( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)) all these thoughts came up, you know, like this one. But then I said, what the heck, I have seen extreme form arise in completely leaving it unknown and just because I want to "be in that understanding" I didn't want to listen, or accept that the nature of these talks, to anybody or any thing, it is different every time and more and more understanding(haha, understanding just came up naturally, how funny is that) is built upon just listening. I then chose to take whatever path came through me, since it is eternal and I'm not 'slacking' so I just sat and thought. Kept thinking that what I was doing was strangely foreign like "I'm not supposed to be doing this, this is for people in that consciousness." and "I've never done this before" and every time, it was like watching a joker in front of me, trying to play with my perception with what is real. Well that concept alone stretches way past 'jester in front of me'.
Well I sat and sat, felt strange wants to follow, because this video just played with my mind more, left me at the gate and waved me to come and follow at my own free will. Anyway, I open a photo I drew of the most clear image of a pure white, cross legged man with white robes and all. I figure since I cannot force mental images upon my brain, I'll just look at him when I can. So I went to my bed, just a few feet away, and sat with my posture as I do now with patanjali system of ashtanga yoga. I just sat, looked back at the image, and I suddenly realized that I was sitting in the same posture, and looking the same way as the thing I drew months back. Well this feeling of coming closer and closer to Maharajji, or just the guru, I find myself to keep finding him, just hidden, to be found.
Well towards the end of the video, I felt like drawing, I don't usually because I'm god awful at it, but I drew anyway, but I soon realized, I wan't drawing, I was just allowing this guru and the world to be my hand for me. I drew something that conceptually blows my mind, it's like seeing the guru and having that message just within your very fiber of being, as if it was just all one and apparent. haha well this experience is way more visual than I could hope for, but since I just wish to share this new trust to the guru, that I once thought was just trust to the world is quite a beautiful thing.
I am fearful that I will get caught up in my head and develop a habit of that as I have in the past with meditation, and quit after a month because I can't make it a pleasant experience. Is there anyone who has any advice for me on how to deal with this?
