Valuable ascetic practice, but the subconscious keeps track of self denial; suspension of natural impulses such as hunger and acknowledgment of pain and it gets mad. Don't want your subconscious mad at ya, really.

Did this to cut weight senior year of wrestling and it was the easiest weight cut in my career. Went from 180 to 160 almost efforlessly. I was already in good shape at 180 so I can verify this technique.
For mere mortals, just do healthy keto and intermittent fasting. I lost about 30lbs in two months, disappeared type II diabetes and am now wearing the same waistline I had in high school. Followed Dr. Berg’s videos here on YouTube.
