Eckhart shares that what we love about our pets is their beingness. When we recognize that we share the same essence, we have the experience of love. While the physical forms will change, the essence of the being remains; at the deepest level, it is the essence that we share and that continues after the body dies.

Peter Fischer says:

If I'm staying in the silence of the moment there is no need for an anchor, because nothing else exists separately from that silence. Only when the chatter of the mind and the ego starts again some people might need an anchor, but I know that I can return to the silence any time I want, and there is not even an I any longer it disppears and there is only the silence. I don't know what it is called but it always there, it never disappears.

It's not physical? You start knocking out a few neurons and you start losing memory. So what are you saying that correlation is not causality in this case?

Is the emotional attachment we feel for significant others (a relative state which includes the singular and plural) simply a reflection of our recognition of being both in ourselves and others or is it a function of being? Perhaps it is something of both? Empathy is also an issue here IMO. To what degree is empathy a factor of importance when we find ourselves attached to a significant other? Projection is widely recognised in the field of psychology. How do we recognise to what degree we are projecting some inner factor or complex onto others or are we simply projecting a characteristic of our inner being? An example of this could be when we view an image of a religious leader as the Pope or Dali lama and it invokes feelings of spirituality – it could also be said that Icons have the same effect for some people. I myself are musically inclined and I feel great spiritual feelings when listening to certain music. Eckhart allows us to further explore the subject of being quite simply, but well.
