Funny thing, I was told this in a dream by Odin some 25 years ago. Took me way too long to really understand it though.
So why would a system set its individuated elements to harm each other? Free will, ok. So why still, would inherent elements of the system (us) be so ignorant and cancer-like? I think there's a bug in the system. I think these teachings are the way up and out, but I have nagging doubts about this logic. I see humans destroying the earth and torturing the animals … is this an illusion? It's a very sadistic one. I understand the longing for experience and evolution, but that didn't have to include terror and grief, did it? Any helpful thoughts would be appreciated.

Walsch is a narcissist Oprah brand. 'Oneness' is a total lie like 'god' and 'spirit' are ego based sophistry of the materially privileged. When will this lie of spirituality be exposed for what it is?
Sorry bud, but many religions teach that God is within us. Additionally, unless a critical mass of humanity reaches the same respect for all others, pretty much at the same time, and is willing to defy orders from their government to enter into a senseless war we will continue to see humans harm and kill each other needlessly when their egotistical leader commands that they go to war against another race/religion/nation or whatever. Other than these two points, I like everything else he says.

Not a criticism, but the appropriate spellings are "Yeshua" or "Yahshua" not "Jeshua". There's no "J" letter or sound in Hebrew or Aramaic. When a "J" letter or sound is used in an English–or Anglicized–transliteration like that, it's automatically incorrect. Like "Jehovah" or "Jesus", for instance. Neither exist in the original languages, and both are inaccurate. One could even say that the entities referred to don't even exist, for that same reason. The only legitimate transliteration of "Yeshua" (or, "Yahshua") into English, for instance, is "Joshua". As for "Jehovah", that's nothing at all. "Yahweh", "Yahveh", "Yaho", or "Yah" would be accurate and historically used in different periods of Hebre/Israelite?Jewish history.
