On The NDTV Dialogues our focus is spirituality in modern India, focus at a time when the world is gearing up to celebrate International Yoga Day, a sense of pride in ancient Indian tradition but not without accompanying controversy with some political parties saying this is all about propagating ideology. We however expand the dialogue beyond this. We look at why spirituality is trending like never before. Where does the line end between spirituality and religion? Joining us on this, Javed Akhtar, poet, writer and an atheist; Amish Tripathi, bestselling author of ‘The Shiva Trilogy’; Nivedita Joshi, Yoga practitioner; Dr Purushottam Agrawal, former JNU professor; and spiritual leader and founder of Isha foundation Sadghuru Jaggi Vasudev.

Rahul Panwar says:

spirituality is something in which nothingness is first requirement, how would peoples with so many doubts against each other on different types of views would gain an exact spiritual path.
spirituality never completely defines everything which only refers an part of humans majority , here in country today , even neighborhood live like indo/pak how would peoples see positivism in what other's do ,instead of everytime searching and pinning what they dont know or nor they can.

first india should learn how to shake hand in an pattern by which if religions were five after shaking hand only two hands others would see. rest all will stay inside heart ,mind or what who was following from five bounded beautifully into two who never gives up.

Aman Aloon says:

I find javedji more logical than the Shiva trilogy author, who is talking about next life, and what not. at least javedji is not speaking something he doesn't know, his approach is very rational, but sometimes I think we need to get over the basic reasoning to know something which we do not know, and that is why I find sadhguruji the most logical. he says everything with perfect rationalism to it.

Sudarsanan Madhavan says:

Outside barbarian tribes…!!

John O'Shaughnessy says:

religio from Latin alludes to become reconnected or reunited with something…. many understand this to be the soul or the divine or the godhead. Words cannot describe such an experience, Religion today is dogmatic, everyone claiming their belief system is the one to follow. beliefs, beliefs, beliefs! one person believes in a god another does not believe, but all are beliefs. We need knowledge, and from that to develop wisdom. Maybe the ancient ones possessed knowledge we have lost, but we will never know. We need to find truth in this time and no longer rely on beliefs and dogmas. Science, like religion is just a label. Science means knowing too, so why don't we just allow everyone to just embark on their own personal voyage of discovery in this life and stop trying to define truth for other people?

Gaurav Mishra says:

Amish Tripathi is a show off. Dodges questions and spouts irrelevant facts.

Shanthi Pranavacharya says:

Has Javed got the guts to call the Mullas and Maulvis as pschizophrenic. He attacks so called indian culture eating the indian pie everyday. Can he dare do the same in Pakistan or in any other muslim country.

manoj kumar says:

Svaanand Umbarje says:

Yes Mr. Javed Akhtar, on 8:02 you rightly said YOUR PATRIOTISM IS UNDER QUESTION. Thank you. If you truly leave the country and go to Pakistan, that would be great. States like Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Bengal, Lakshadweep, Assam, Bihar are plagued by people like you, Muslims were guests in Āryāvarta ("Hindustan", for you in case your ignorance do not let you read Mahabharata), and you bastards killed the hosts and infected this great nation.
