One of the greatest works of classic literature. Lao Tzu shares timeless wisdom with the world.
. . .
Traditionally attributed to Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu, the true authorship of the Tao Te Ching, as well as the date around which it was written (usually said to be 6th c. BCE to 4th century BCE), is often debated. The Tao Te Ching is one of the most famous Chinese classic texts and one of the founding texts of Taoism, an ancient Chinese philosophical and religious tradition.
The Tao Te Ching includes short verses regarding a number of central aspects of Taoism, such as action, the duality of nature, knowledge, and virtue. However, the true basis of the Tao Te Ching, as well as of Taoism overall, is the “Tao”–an abstract concept most commonly translated as the “Way.” The Tao refers to, in rough terms, the natural order and progression of the universe. While Taoism describes nature as the interaction of two opposite but complementary forces, the Tao itself is unified, eternal and indescribable, and such aspects of its nature are emphasized throughout the Tao Te Ching. The goal of adherence to Taoism is to harmonize oneself with the Tao, and therefore with nature and with the universe.

I would do anything to hear this narrator reading the Chuang Tzu
10:00 is only me realising now that this is what he teaches. He doesn’t do the universe asked him and he just responded.
I don't think that it's a Stephen Mitchel translation. I have the book; it's quiet different. Thanks for the upload.
There is wisdom wherever you look for your fate is to see wisdom. Utopia means nowhere.
Can anyone tell me if this is the original text being translated? I look on audiobooks and only found people summarizing. I want the core and original book from ancient times
We as human beings on this Earth need this knowledge for the so we can function right and clear minded.
7 ❤️ THANK U
Far too much personal philosophy put on this reading. The narrator should read the material more closely…
he has to be a blabbermouth cuz to be a good person you have to learn from bad ppl so if ur a good person u do bad things so that others learn to be good (edit: right ?)

4:40 I am reminded a saying Jesus said,"I am the way, the truth and the life.". Solomon was the wisest of all people, wiser than Egyptian and Kings of the East. This is not to say all other cultures had no wisdom, quite the opposite… I see great wisdom in Lao's teachings for I found them in nature before hearing Lao's say them. I have a saying,"My best advice is not to take everyone's advice." The corollary is obviously to look to the advice of those who do lots of things the way you know. Loa is like this to me, I see nature because I am here. If you go to the beach, you love the sun, sand, water and appreciate being in the here and now because you accepted you're at your goal. You have rocks, water and sun at home. Why do you not appreciate it there? People tell me,"Jim why do you act like you're always at the beach?". They see me different in my attitude and love. Other's are caught in goal oriented living,"Can't wait to graduate high school, can't wait to get accepted to university, can't wait to get a good job, a spouse, kids, kids out of house, retirement, social security, then old and in pain, they can't wait for death." Some never live because they were never where they were, always looking forward. I spend my entire life loving and investing some to tomorrow, but I live in the now and talk surfer speak even in my 40s. If you put anything above love, it is something you'll explore others to obtain. Because of this, I am a Christian for love and service of others is greater than anything else we could desire yet somehow God fills our cup fuller than if we were selfish! Still, because Loa does things how I do, I enjoy him as a philosopher. I'm a scientist also, but I believe science does a poor job of capturing the spirit of creation in plants and animals. I look forward to listening to this. Thank you.
