Lao Tzu has wisdom to offer from Taoism. How do you know when it’s time to let someone go? Saying goodbye to someone you once loved is an incredibly difficult thing to do. Even if your relationship wasn’t perfect, it can be so heart-wrenching that you may avoid it altogether, often at the expense of your well-being. It’s common, at the end of a relationship, to see your partner through rose-colored glasses. You unconsciously ignore the problems right in front of you, finding ways to justify and excuse their unfair or unkind behavior. We all like to think we know better, but when we’re truly attached to someone, we all struggle to let go. We all hold onto things and people that are not good for us. And we all hide from the feelings of heartbreak that await us on the other side.
