Mohammed and Jesus and Abraham are all fictional characters. I appreciate you brother. But let's tell the entire truth.

excuse me bro this topic is really important to me i plan on visiting africa aka home in about a year i want to know if you have any books that could broaden my horizon on the topic of African spirituality

Duncan Crow says:

I'd advise against judeochristianity. It is unbecoming to those who can reason.

Ashraf Nuri says:

Religion gave birth to African spirituality. It has just been watered down to just spiritually. Christ alaihi salaam and Muhammad sallaLlaahu alaihi wa sallam came to restore the path.
Don't blame Christianity and Islam for what conquistadors did.. you speak falsehood.
Islam isn't a copy. It's retelling you which ways are correct and should continue and reminding what is evil.

AFRICAN SPIRITUALITY IS JUST SIMPLY PURE WORSHIPPING OF THE EVIL SPIRITS OR UNCLEAN SPIRITS, OR SIMPLY CALL IT THE OPERATIONAL POWERS OF THE DEVIL LUCIFER.AFRICAN RELIGION IS OR CULTURE IS DEEPLY ROOTED INTO SATANIC WORSHIP,AND WITCH CRAFT PRACTICES,IT IS THIS SATANIC WORSHIP THAT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR FAILURES THAT THAT CONTINENT IS GOING THROUGH..
I AM AN AFRICAN I KNOW WHAT AM TALKING ABOUT.

I love this. Great video. I would have liked to hear more on Ethiopian Christianity as apposed to the Catholic church. I.e. What came first and linage from there but he fit a hell of a lot in. I look forward to more videos.

Never Wait says:

No one can interpret a text for you. You must interpret it for yourself. No one can judge the truth in a text. You must do that yourself. To belong to a madhhab or a church is a mistake – it means giving the duty of truth-seeking, which can only be sincerely an individual pursuit, to someone else – to someone who makes a profit off such spiritual endeavor.
Only you on your own can discover the truth. Noone else can discover it for you.

alsdyall says:

Lol. All of this to get black people to worship, oh …"praise" the sun? Why not go to the source? The energy from which the Sun emanates. That way you are giving thanks to all that exists in nature.
And it confirms the black man's true nature which is peace (the essence).

Qurán 41:37 "And among His signs are the night and the day and the sun and the moon; do not prostrate to the sun nor to the moon; and prostrate to Allah Who created them.."

Not even the people of Ancient Kemet worshipped the Sun alone.
It represented the power or energy behind it.

"Since the early days of Egyptology it was accepted that the god of Amarna is not literally the sundisk, but the “energy of the sun” as it was already proposed by Petrie in 1894.1 The studies of Assmann in the 80s and 90s confirmed that the god of the Amarna period is not simply the “divine sun disk,” but a complex construct described by the divine names written in cartouches."

alsdyall says:

Actually the only difference between 'spirituality' and 'religion' is what people make up in their minds. These words, especially as used now are European constructs. The term 'Africa' is a Western construct. So there really is no such thing as "African Spirituality" that you can find on the continent.

Spirituality – is derivative of Christianity. Look it up. "spirituality (n.)
early 15c., "the clergy," also "ecclesiastical property; things pertaining to the Church," from Middle French spiritualite, from Late Latin spiritualitatem (nominative spiritualitas), from Latin spiritualis (see spiritual). Meaning "quality of being spiritual" is from c. 1500; seldom-used sense of "fact or condition of being a spirit" is from 1680s. An earlier form was spiritualty (late 14c.). " Meaning "of or concerning the church" is attested from mid-14c.

Africa – The ancient Romans used the name Africa terra – "land of the Afri" (plural, or "Afer" singular) – for the northern part of the continent that corresponds to modern-day Tunisia. The origin of Afer may be the Phoenician afar, dust; the Afri tribe, who dwelt in Northern Africa around the area of Carthage; Greek aphrike (*ἀφρίκη), without cold; or Latin aprica, sunny. The name Africa, which was originally used by the Romans to refer to present-day Tunisia, only began to be stretched to encompass a larger area when the provinces of Tripolitania, Numidia and Mauritania Caesariensis were subdued to the Diocesis of Africa, following the administrative restructuring of Diocletian.

Religion – There is no such entity or thing, as a 'religion' in reality. The word isn't in any of the scriptures. It is a Western concept originally foreign to any people on the Mother Continent. It's not even clear what it originally meant. ""According to Cicero it's derived from relegere "go through again" (in reading or in thought), from re- "again" (see re-) + legere "read" (see lecture (n.)). However, popular etymology among the later ancients (Servius, Lactantius, Augustine) and the interpretation of many modern writers connects it with religare "to bind fast" (see rely), via notion of "place an obligation on," or "bond between humans and gods."

Why in 2017 are we basing our beliefs on these European words and concepts? We also have to be aware of the Madame Blavatsky and the New Age crowd who are pushing this New Age "spirituality" as a critique to religion. Which is all white people drama that should have nothing to do with us.

John Moore says:

Hey bro this info was very informative ,but the only part that really caught my attention was at the end when you said you wake up and give praises to the sun or give reverence to it. You say its giving thanks for the things that allow us to exist. Well we can agree to disagree, the ONLY person or thing we should be giving praises or reverence to is God which created all the things which allow us to live on this planet including the sun, moon, stars, atmosphere we live in and the oxygen we breathe.
New Living Translation
Romans 1:25 They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen.

Lol This guy is a Muslim. Islam and Christianity didn't come from Kemet you psychologically sedated fool. None of the Abrahamic religion is a way forward for Africa. African SCIENCE is a way forward for AfriKa.

Ric Sta says:

My friend (友 in Chinese). Religion as a Cult may indeed be accurate. With all the Discord in the World now, for sharing such may I say Thank you (ありがとう in Japanese) (감사in Korean), last but not least (dziękuję in Polish, my 1st language). I present this positive comment in the spirit of Confucius 孔子 (learn all now, discern some later). I may know a little of West 西, maybe a little of far East 東, but nothing in between 中. In my studies of Spiritual Beliefs, I found that the Spiritual Beliefs of the Yoruba seem to encompass all, and perhaps more. Creation of dry land in a sea of mist is similar to Japanese Shinto; formation of humankind is similar to ancient Chinese Beliefs; the Great Flood is similar to Scandinavian, Greco-Roman, & Judeo-Christian Beliefs. Finally, perhaps most important, Good vs Evil: is it 2 opposing cosmic forces that influence all, or is it the simple duality of human nature. This is similar to TRUE FAITH. …If I offended Any, I Sincerely Apologize. If I enlightened any, I Sincerely Thank You for reading this rather strange comment. I have no proof of anything, I have always read a lot of books.

You're west African are going not ? If so then why is the whole focus of this video about Egypt and the Mediterranean world rather than the religions indigenous to a majority of black Africans ?

gemmabean says:

You have focused far too much on Islam and Christianity and your insistence that they are African is nonsensical. As Dr. James Smalls said, Christianity and Islam are innovations on the periphery of African spirituality. They don't expand on any of the central ideas such as balance of male and female energies and ancestor reverence. Your talk should've been based on authentic African spirituality rather than Abrahamic drivel. I think that Africans who continue to insist that there is some fundamental link between the two should just stick with the Abrahamic nonsense of their slave masters. You don't bring anything to the table by claiming to be part of African spirituality.

Yahya AlShamy says:

This is a beautiful explanation of religion and spirituality. As a Muslim, I really enjoyed this and think more people should be aware of the evolution of Abrahamic religion. However, I do have a question. Why derive this spirituality from Kemet? what about other tribes that you may be closer to that have completely different understandings of religion and spirituality?
