The Dalai Lama has criticised the US president and shared his views on Brexit in a BBC interview.

The Tibetan spiritual leader also told BBC South Asia Correspondent Rajini Vaidyanathan that he had not given up hope of returning to Tibet – and repeated controversial views that if his successor is a woman, she should be “attractive”.

Legmon Ngagnam says:

Where would she immigrate if England becomes Indian.

Legmon Ngagnam says:

Being one of his followers I am happy to hear he is a realist and not an idealist as everyone thought he would be.

Jason Gafar says:

Such a stupid interviewer. You have the privilege and honour of meeting the Dalai Lama, and this is the nonsense you ask him? Ridiculous.

someone in the chat says:

Humans like pretty things. Not complicated.

Juarez Rodrigues Baena says:

I thought the Dalai Lama was an enlightened man. Now I know that he is just an old man, mistaken, who does not know the truths about the world. A man who praised Marxism! The same Marxism that drove him out of Tibet!

Being Human says:

Whoah whoah! Wrong interpretation! And on top of that acting smart infront of the great lama. Instead of feeling blessed to be talking with such great being, whoah what an attitude!?
HH Dalai Lama is not same like us the normal beings! He is an extraordinary being, God in human form. Learn to respect before acting smart. That great lama will never have any hatred towards anyother being rather just because he cannot speak fluent english, dont underestimate his humbleness as his weakness.
People who wants to attain enlightenment are long coveting for his blessing and here upon seeing her behavior, acting smart infront of such great lama. OH MY GOODNESS! Shame!

NINJAGUAR says:

So do you, Mr; CIA plant.

Helena Estefanía Duque says:

Dear BBC, please consider hiring more educated and professional interviewers for your future projects. It's not every day that you get the Dalai Lama, who is being extremely respectful as opposed to your interviewer who probably was going under some personal stress that reflected on her work here. Also your editing is an area of opportunity. Other than that, thank you for bringing us closer to HH.

HermorahnCogni says:

damn.. cut at the most interesting moment

Calegorix says:

The correspondent asks straight and correct questions. They could have come from me. And His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, answered very straight and accurateley. it should have come from me.

Many commentators here forget, that His Holiness definitely sees a lack of morality in the president, and that the questions are not from only one person or one agenda, they are public!

And the argument of editing is worthless.
Some people only want more words to find a weakness for disarguing.
And we all forgot, "One day he sais something, on another day he sais something… (different)."

– "Lack of morality" (it might be true) did we forget?!
HH knows, what he sais.

Dear Dalai Lama, i thank you very much for your sincerity,
for mentioning the responsibilty to our world
and for the faith for Tibet and for Buddha`s way.
*kisses and hugs …
(and no worries, all your answers were correct and understandable.
Politics is a hard pavement)

Lord Sky Dragon says:

The only way to prevent Europe from becoming an "Afro Islamic continent" is for it to revert back to its component nation states with sovereign powers which can't be overuled by those of the European union. Thus the accepting of permanent jihadist refugee migrants would not be an obligation for every European nation dictated from Brussels, as is the current situation. In this perspective Breexit is an excellent idea and in addition British subjects needn't surrender rights to the natural resources of Britain to another European nation laying claim to those same resources with support from Brussels. Authorities in Brussels do not give priority to the claims of the British subjects to resources within their own country. 🐲🐾
