This unique event, the Golden Word Book Signing, allowed Dr. Hawkins to answer some deep and interesting questions in an intimate bookstore setting. Questions came from novices who are unfamiliar with his work as well as from students who have studied his teachings for several years. The topics include challenges to one’s comfort zone; A Course in Miracles; changing employment; being sensitive to negativity; parental vs. personal career choice; consciousness level 700; clinical depression; marriage; emotional “crashes”; detachment/duty; Unity Church teachings; the death of the ego; despair; messages from pain; sexual expressions; irritability; kinesiology methods; view of Jesus; how to live life; war; fear of death; 91st Psalm; worry; and so much more!

Katka says:

There is no healing in narcissism, only the possibility of awakening. So talking to someone who is drowning in narcissism, a slap into the ego face (so to speak) can be a chance. Maybe the only chance.
It is deplorable that kindness and explanations are received as pure weakness by a narcissist, and they would never take advice from a weaker person. Well, they would never take advice from a superior person too – that doesn't exist in their world anyway …

This man could have asked 'where do my doubts come from' for example. But he doubted the work, honesty, and integrity of others. That's where you can see the narcissism. He didn't reflect on himself but questioned other humans. He tried to discuss it. Bring doubt, demand proof, justification. Look out when someone demands justification from you.
Therefore, Dr. Hawkins said what he had to say to give insight to those whom can hear and understand, and didn't allow the man to play out his mind games.

Sinan says:

I am I big fan of dr Hawkins but sometimes I find him to be a unnecessarily rude to people as an god conscious being it’s a must that no matter who or what they are confronted with they should always project love and understanding for the man who is a victim of the ego, remember we have all been blinded by the veil…let’s us not forget to show love to our brothers and sisters always, for In the end only god can judge us & so we shall judge ourselves

Nicholas Glasson says:

Aww I love Dr Hawkins. To the point and so funny too, I wish more people would get his humor haha. Thanks for the upload!

CommanderKalgan says:

“If you own your narcissism, you can transcend it and won’t project it onto others” a hell of an insight to which I’ve never heard

Chris Birns says:

Great video!

How I interpreted that was Hawkins was providing a valuable lesson to the student.

It wasn't as if the question wasn't a fair one, but rather where the question was coming from that was the focal point of the lesson.

Hawkins is an exceptionally experienced clinicician and teacher and can pick up on subtleties that most would miss

It might help to use an analogy with a sport like jujitsu to help clarify this.

The student came into a jujitsu class with an over confidence in his abilities and projected that the instructor nor the fellow students had anything of value to teach him. To him Jujitsu was just men rolling around with one another. There was no discernible skill involved and it was a waste of time.

He devalued the others students experience and thought the instructor didn't have anything of value to teach him.

It wasn't that the student was earnestly trying to learn the basics but was rather trying to embarrass his fellow classmates and the instructor.

Hawkins being an experienced teacher picked up on this immediately
and had the student roll with an advanced student.
The new student was tapped out very quickly and it's very embarrising experience and a blow to his ego.

The new student tried to deflect and blame and the instructor was very direct with him that your ego is getting in the way of your progress.

Hawkins explained to him did you just assume that we just roll around all day and don't learn how to effectively immobilize people?

Do you think that for the past 30 years of me teaching this to students that it's just impractical?

Why are you aimlessly wasting my time and yours.

He didn't give the student an opportunity to escape the lesson prematurely and abruptly ended the conversation so that the student can now reflect on his lesson that instead of you projecting your Narcissm, you should own it first.

Telling him learn the basics of the work first, before trying to discredit it.

katrina browne says:

I know hes defending his work, but the ego says im right, kinesiology is right.
How can he say that
The man was obviously doubting and this was not a response from the light, to quick, reaction overdrive

Stephen Kaake says:

my brother said to me 'you only believe what you want to believe' 'you're a sociopath' 'you're smart, its all your ideas are dumb'
'you wanted to have your teeth filed down because you want to suffer' 'I will never lift a finger to help you' 'F U'
he's a narcissist , my whole family is, bad people don't take responsibility they just continue to accuse others of what they are guilty of, like jesus said 'your brother has a stick in his eye, while you have a log in yours'

Mazklassa says:

I know people may not care but my own narcissistic self tells me that they do, and so this is why I'm commenting. No cynical joke there. I'm in it real bad and my life is going down the pan, painfully slowly. I think the origin of this pathology I have developed or inherited (but nonetheless have not exorcised by some means of the word by my own awakening) that from a very young age I have had body dysmorphia and it's been with me ever since. And I think by being so self-obsessed with it that it's mutated into a form of narcisstic personality. If I had to say which type it's covert/vulnerable – sympathy seeking and unaccountable, irresponsible. I have thought desperately, perhaps foolishly out of such desperation about taking psychedelics to purge that sick part of myself. But of course I'm thinking about that causing some additional bad side effect and pushing myself, my physical brain into further decline and screwing myself up further. I don't know what to do.

Angie Cameron says:

Powerful.💕🙏

Ewa says:

He was really rude, epecially in the beginning and in the end. The question was quite normal, maybe it was Hawkins that was projecting his narcissism onto the poor guy?

Tobi Gibbons says:

Amazing how quickly Dr. Hawkins picked up that he’s a devil. Thank you for teaching how to solve such an engagement. That was true power in action. The conversation is over.

Sumithra Siva says:

Knowing narcissism is to understand mental health. It is often projected on to others as an escapists

Evan Tochydlowski says:

That was incredible. Thanks for this

Blest Health and Wellness says:
