Randy Wortman says:

Does the swivel fail often? Don't think it's to will last for salmon, also does the wire pull out when the fly and thread gets wet? Seems like it would.

ahmed AhMeD says:

is this real rabbit hair? or artificial?  can I take from my rabbit? if so how can I treat it?

David J says:

It seems to me in your vid anyway that the black rabbit strip isn't pulled tight across the joint, that you left a little slack. true?

Stephen Palmateer says:

That's a lot of rabbit hair.  Does it hold a lot of water?  How does it cast?  Could I cast that with anything less than an 8 wt. rod with a weight forward fly line?

Frank H. says:

Nice pattern and tips … but why cutting off a TIEMCO hook and not some cheap hook, it is used as a "rod-with-eye-to-attach-your-leader-and-stinger ?

Sean Mooney says:

Thanks for that information. I have asked that question of many tiers and you are the first to give me that information. I do appreciate it and will cut off the front hooks immediately. All the best, SEan

longsnipz says:

The need to cut off the first hook is this- some state regulations on fly fishing trout streams is the use of one fly with one single hook. iv tied and fished alot of articulating flies and 9 outa 10 times the rear hook is the one that gets hooked to the fish.

Sean Mooney says:

Those swivels are not very strong in my experience. Can you buy those in different guages like wire? otherwise, that is your weak link. All the best, Sean

Sean Mooney says:

I need to understand what the need is for cutting off the first hook. Why not two hooks?
I have tied many articulated shanks but have never fished them. I am caring for a terminally ill wife so I tie flies, but have no time for fishing. Maybe if I fished them, I wouldn't need to ask the question. All the best, Sean

redshaftedflicker says:

awesome instruction and a killer lookin' streamer. i'll be twistin' some up soon!

ron wagoner says:

That is the best fishing fly up here in alaska without a doubt.
