Dr. Hawkins was an explorer of Consciousness while on earth. His own enlightenment came through the portal of deep despair. He felt motivated to help others, so they wouldn’t have to experience the same timeless pain and despair. His books detail the Pathway of Heart and Mind (coined “Devotional Nonduality”) in which devotion and surrender to God, our Divine Source, is at its core. This is taken from an excellent 2 part interview called “Advanced States of Consciousness” with a Korean Monk. Dr. Hawkins explains “his own” enlightenment “experience”. But if you don’t have any interest or drive to exist after self realization, then I don’t see that as a state to reach, because what is a point to be in this body if I don’t have any passion what drives me forward in life?!

100% Pure Zen. 100% Pure Realization. I experienced that… once…. When I was young in college… I felt something spiritual always calling me… inside of me… sort of .. and I started meditating and meditating and meditating every day even up to 4 hours per day… Then one day I put a 1 hour long OM chant track and started listening to it INTENTLY and with all of my being I said: " I WANT TO KNOW GOD!" and when I said that I had a powerful realization and a powerful gift !
I 'flew' / (ejected?) out of my body and was pulled up and up and up and up… and faster and faster and faster and then suddenly *stopped*. I stopped in this pure "space" and I saw to the front…saw The Presence of Lord God… MASSIVE MASSIVE MASSIVE 'waves' of PURE PURE Light made of PURE LOVE and INFINITE POWER AND INFINITE LOVE… A LOVE SO POWERFUL… SO ( I don't know…. how to even describe it… ) so indescribably pure and powerful and ultra ultra High Quality ……that it RADIATED powerfully infinitely and omnisciently in "all directions" ( although there are no "directions" in Infinity…. Infinity is completely 'infinite' so there are "no directions" per say…. Just Pure Oneness… for there to be a 'direction' in Pure Infinity… you have to make an arbitrary starting point in that infinity then take a direction….) The Light was SO Powerful that it completely obliterated all of my mind that was NOT PURE LOVE…. It completely obliterated all of my 'personality'… all of my 'beliefs' ( all the collection of things and silliness that I had picked up in all my lifetime was completely GONE.. replace by pure Infinity and PURE STILLNESS.
Everything was Absolutely Pure QUIET completely SILENT… I couldn't hear anyone or anything… there was Pure Silence and everything shined forth with the light of GOD. It was absolutely beautiful, and awesome and incredible…
Dr. Hawkins literally helped me sort of "understand" the experience and integrate into my being.
