This is foolish. We SHOULD regret if we hurt people and I'm certain Eckhart has hurt people in his life. Regret doesn't mean one has to be consumed by guilt. It's just acknowledging that you made a bad choice or acted out of ignorance. We SHOULD regret what we have done out of ignorance, especially hurting others.
Eckhart often sounds like a smug narcissist to me: "I'm all good, I don't worry, nothing bothers me, no regrets, no worries…"
Is enlightenment never feeling a single negative emotion… no fear, no regret, no worry? Or is it accepting that these emotions arise, are part of our experience and learning what we can from them? If all you want is to feel good and safe and comfy, that's fine, we all want that. But is that enlightenment? Is that freedom? Or is it just another thing that can become our fixation?
And of COURSE Eckhart doesn't have a lot of the worries or concerns most people do… He's made millions selling his repackaged version of Buddhism.

no wonder his stuff is so heavily promoted and advertised – what better message is there to serve power than to state its all in your head and its not at all about your circumstances = imagine this message being rolled out by governments and the ruling class oh is that neoliberalism and the dismantling of circumstances favourable to life – can we begin to ask why so many people are having automatic negative thoughts more and more? just what is it in the circumstances/culture of our lives that helps create these phenomena – I suppose he might say we're just making them up, a little self flagellation maybe?
This is like taking a beautiful sun loving flower planing it in the dark in dog turd soil and then pouring imaginary feed all over it – like all living things human beings require circumstances to thrive not just do battle and constantly struggle to survive = enough navel gazing lets work together to build a better world

I've listened to him for five and a half minutes and I don't get it. By that I mean that I've always gotten it and what is the big f**** deal be aware of your surroundings be here now don't dwell on the past don't dwell on the future. I'm sure he'll say more than just that. But like I said I don't get it this is a big spiritual atomic bomb Oh I'm aware of the present moment. Oh oh oh

I’ve read this book. Amazing. Seriously recommend people to read it the truth in this mans words seriously change your perspective. Also hard to believe this man is 70.
Anyone who actually wants liberation, do yourself a favor and stop following Eckhart because his teachings will only make you go round and round. I was actually introduced to spirituality thanks to him so I'm grateful for his presence in the world. But if you actually want to awaken, go look at non duality or a teacher like Fred Davis.
