The ego can be such imprisonment, especially when you are younger and more impressionable. Being free of it, gives an abundance in a very special way. You don't yearn for things ; you appreciate the little things you already have. Boredom and discontent recedes.

Omg yes that’s how I used to be when I was religious but I was unhappy in the inside

Your ego is that you believe all the thoughts and thought stories that your mind gives you. Stop believing all thought stories. End of the ego.

Every time when I watch Eckhart I think of my dad who looked like Eckhart so Eckhart’s words are more meaningful because it’s like my dad talks to me. Maybe my dad sent Eckhart to me from heaven. Thanks for teaching us Eckhart 🥰❤️

The patriarchy still functions in most of the world. This lie needs to completely dissolve. Men have dominated and killed women since fhe beginning of time.

I had that feeling for many years. It was something missing. There was a void. Then I lost everything in just a couple of months. Literally everything. I was in pain. And only then I found myself and I was complete. Bless you ET for putting into words what I truly felt.

@zeroxox777 says:

Grand explanations of the ego as offered here are nothing to do with the observation and understanding of the phenomena of the mental and emotional life which he calls ego, and has no place in the true flowering of understanding which is first and foremost an understanding of your own life as it is. So what value has a teacher of the content of psychological life? This every psychologist does already, and it merely prejudices everything you see because you accept these descriptions as the truth. No – awareness alone perceives the truth of what is and goes beyond it, and no-body can teach awareness because it always already is. When the brain understands the importance of this awareness naturally it will start to be aware, including of all the disruptions to this natural awareness the complete understanding of which puts them away. Trying to practice won't put them away through understanding but only through the self-violence of repression and resistance which is not the action of understanding but of instruction by authority.

@ashleyhouse9690 says:

I'm not saying it's a good thing but the ego is what makes us human. Without the ego the world as we know it would not exist. Maybe that would be a good thing lol!

@human_cy says:

Identifying as awakened makes you feel superior to the lowly and still asleep humans. You cannot really exist without the ego. But you can expand it I guess. Expand it enough so the unconscious becomes conscious

@kysa3535 says:

my big ego says, that egoless people are just losers who need another kind of anchor.
