Joshua Fraser says:

I loved this, the message you've sent is well crafted, beautiful, and so needed for so many. I hope in writing this I am not seen as a nihilist or burdened by fear, as I do not see myself condemned by it.

All the examples of meaning you expressed in this beautiful minimisation of fear's reality were constructed by metaphors of opposites in which understanding can be found, however, I don't believe fear has an opposite or an equal.

I struggle with conceptualising fear at its most foundational construct because I cannot establish a valid antonymical parallel to it. It creates both positive and negative. Out of fear, we have biologicaly evolved to be less desirable to predators, we have created tools, and technology to advance ourselves in order to minimise it. We created social order, religion and philosophy to understand and exist within it.

Fear only has the value we place on it and if it becomes overtly existential to our "self" (societal or individual), we use it a as tool for protectionisum. At an individual level, we educate ourselves, we work toward self fulfilment and find peace in the connections we make with others. At a societal level, we change legislation, overthrow governments, create clean energy.

We should treat fear with respect, understand it, and use all the senses we have evolved because of its existence, to recognise it. It is important to stay aware of its inseparable existance in our reality and also important that we are not controled or crippled by it.

Sorry.. rant over.

Regarding Eckhart's remarks at 7:00, here's how Thomas records it in the Gospel of Thomas as Saying #22:
(1) Jesus saw some babies nursing. (2) He said to his disciples, "These nursing babies are like those who enter the kingdom."

(3) They said to him, "Then shall we enter the kingdom as babies?"

(4) Jesus said to them, "When you make the two into one, and when you make the inner like the outer and the outer like the inner, and the upper like the lower, (5) and when you make male and female into a single one, so that the male will not be male nor the female be female, (6) when you make eyes in place of an eye, a hand in place of a hand, a foot in place of a foot, an image in place of an image, (7) then you will enter [the kingdom]."

Cool, eh?! Peace.

We live two lives. The second life begins when we come to realize that we only have one! Peace.
