In this reflective episode of “The Deep Thinker,” we explore the spiritual and mystical roles that cats have played in human lives across cultures and religions. “Why Did God Put a Cat in Your Life? The Spirituality of Cats” delves into the historical significance, symbolic meanings, and emotional impact of these enigmatic creatures.
We discuss how cats have been revered in ancient civilizations like Egypt, where they were seen as guardians and symbols of protection, and examine their roles in various mythologies and spiritual beliefs worldwide. This episode also looks at the therapeutic and healing qualities of cats, supported by modern psychological studies, and how these traits contribute to the spiritual and emotional well-being of their human companions.
Join us as we uncover why cats are often seen as spiritual guides and what lessons we can learn from their independent, observant, and serene natures. Whether you’re a cat lover, a spiritual seeker, or just curious about the deeper connections between animals and humans, this episode offers a profound perspective on the divine purpose behind these beloved animals in our lives.
My wife got a kitten in 2015, I was not interested in cats. She passed away in 2016, now that cat is everything to me. I love the cat now and he is in a way a connection to my wife. I now love cats and wonder how I would exist without them.
Love you Bacardi, you lived for 20 years after you graced us with your presence as a stray. I gave you your new name, which everyone loved. You left to bear a litter of what the vet said were probably still born kittens, we thought you left when you broke out of the apartment or moved on but the cat came back… Thought you were a gonner but the cat came back. I hope you had a wonderful life while you were here with us.
I fed a feral cat for over 2 years. I found him when he was a kitten. He never let me touch, but I felt connected and will always love him. He stopped showing up

My current cats are a gift from my previous cat (who still visists me).
My cat is my best friend, favourite family member and wise teacher. Her lessons in boundaries and assertiveness are second to none and her discourses on discernment are unparalleled. I've learned a lot from her that I don't think any person could teach me.
